Thanks for joining me!

There is a place in the world for everyone, despite the way they communicate, the way they walk or get around, the supports they use and the idiosyncrasies they have.  What do we all have in common?  We are all human and we all have an innate need to belong.

We need to think outside the box, we need to presume competence and we need to see the person.

There is a way, because there is a will.

There is an ability in each one of us.

We need to embrace this as a community.

Hand in Hand Family Resource Center is ready to provide the resources, education, man power…WHATEVER THE NEED…to make this happen.

Since being established in January of 2017 we have accomplished the following:

  • Multiple informational seminars for parents, teachers and providers led by experts in their field
  • Adaptive swimming lessons
  • A traveling Santa
  • C.A.M.P.S. (Construction, Art, Movement/Music, Play, Sensory) and event for all abilities
  • Networking for families
  • All-Abilities Curling
  • LEAD (Leaders Embracing All-Abilities and Diversity) Disability Acceptance Trainings
  • Fairway Friends Golfing
  • Inclusive sports day
  • Guidance towards resources

And that is just the beginning.  I hope you will follow this blog.  Some days it may just be the ramblings of an overworked, overwhelmed mom.  Other days it will be important information about local resources, guest blogs from local professionals and other topics of interest.

Thank you for coming and I hope you will stay.

This is a place to learn.  This is a place to find support.  This is the place where everyone belongs.

There is one grand lie: that we are limited. The only limits we have are the limits we believe. —Wayne Dyer
